Monterey Mechanical Co. was founded in 1942, and as the name implies, was located in Monterey, California. Its primary focus was construction work for the war effort. Although the headquarters was moved to Oakland in 1946, the Monterey name was retained.
The evolution of the present Monterey Mechanical Co. contains several changes. What started as a partnership is now a corporation that now acts as a prime contractor performing civil and millwright work as well as process mechanical, HVAC and metal fabrication. The company and its entirety is employee owned with such a genuine commitment in building a strong, life-long relationships one company at a time.
For over 75 years, Monterey Mechanical Co. has been supplying quality service and products to many North American companies. We have a team of experienced engineers to meet the needs of our customers.

At Monterey Mechanical Co., we always maintain an established Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Program for use in our main shops as well as for our project sites. Our site projects are administered by our Mechanical Coordinator, an experienced engineer, full time staff employee who is also in-charge of plan documentation.
Each plan is separately documented in our Quality Assurance Manual and includes the following key elements:

In addition, we are qualified for American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) fabrication for pressure piping and pressure vessels and maintain current approved stamps for this work.
Safety
Monterey Mechanical Co. continues to maintain a comprehensive safety and health program for all employees administered by a full time Safety Manager along with a full time Field Safety Engineer. Our safety program includes Injury and Illness Prevention Program in which you will find topics addressing Excavations and Trenches, Confined Spaces, Fall Protection, along with numerous others.
As a growing company, Monterey Mechanical Co. either meet or exceed current regulations as found in the Cal/OSHA General Industry and Construction Standards.

Each new employee is required to complete and pass a deeply involved Computer Based Training program covering industry standard topics. In addition, all employees in a Supervisory position hold a minimum Cal/OSHA 10- Hour Construction card. "Incident Rates" is very minimal compare to industry averages.
